cranberries

Cranberries are one of three fruits native to North America! They are tart berries and are often mixed with other ingredients in recipes.

Why is it good for my body? Cranberries are very acidic, even more so than lemons and limes. Like other berries, they contain a wealth of antioxidants and other beneficial nutrients.
Where does it come from? Cranberries, along with blueberries and concord grapes are one of the few native North American fruits still being grown in the United States.. Most cranberries are grown in Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Oregon, New Jersey and Washington.
What season is it fresh? Fresh cranberries are the ripe in fall, but you can find them frozen in most grocery stores year round.
How do I store and handle it? Fresh cranberries are packed with antioxidants which naturally preserve them. If stored in the refrigerator, they can last several months.
What are ways to eat it? Try our cranberry salsa recipe! It will be a hit at a winter gathering. Our Cranberry Tea Bread is also a delicious treat. You could also try our Roasted Butternut with Cranberries for a delicious savory recipe.
